Transformers toys by Hasbro have been favorites of mine since I can remember, and my kids love them just as much. Transformers new characters for younger children are the Rescue Bots, which have rescue vehicle and dinosaur modes. All Autobots, no Decepticons here. I also loved the interactive story books with the accompanying record or cassette. You know, the ones that told you, “You’ll know it is time to turn the page when you hear the chimes ring like this…” Age reveal aside, the vinyl and tape interactive story books have now come back as apps for iPhone and iPad. I have generally not been a fan of weather apps. I’ve used the Weather.com app once in a while, and always ended up uninstalling it because I was not happy with the interface or the laggy response of the user interface. The new Yahoo! Weather app for Android devices changes things up a bit, though, and I’m keeping this one. I tested Yahoo! Weather on my Samsung Stratosphere II Android smartphone and a 7-inch Android tablet (Kindle Fire modded with custom bootloader, recovery, Google services and Go launcher). The Yahoo! Weather app, free in the Google Play store, is very easy to use and equally easy on the eyes.
